Political uncertainty in Bulgaria following inconclusive Parliamentary elections
Bulgarian parliamentary polls have thrown a fractured mandate as none of party won majority. Former prime minister Boyko Borisov's conservative GERB party won most votes (31.4 %) and will have first chance to form government but no other party are ready to join coalition.
- Opposition socialist party BSP : 27.34 % votes
- Turkish minority MRF party : 9.15 % ; ultra-nationalist Ataka party: 7.6 %
If Socialists are also not able to form government then - REPOLLING
Socialists : in favour of an anti-crisis cabinet of technocrats / programme cabinet to see through next elections
- Political uncertainty would further accentuate problem of low living standards and corruption which lead to massive demonstrations and people setting them on fire forcing Borisov to resign in February 2013.
