  • India becomes the 3rd largest crude oil importer in the World behind China and US as per a report released by Reuters.   
    •  India replaced Japan as such by importing 3.86 million barrels-per-day of crude oil in the year 2013 as against 3.64 million barrels-per-day imported by Japan. 
  • The country's 1st Monorail service starts in Mumbai. The service connecting Wadala with Chembur, carrying about 560 passengers, will operate from 7 am to 3 pm.
