  • India becomes the first country in South Asia to ban the testing of cosmetics and its ingredients on animals.
    • Though it has left an escape route for pharma companies to either sell such cosmetics tested abroad or outsource the testing of their own products.
  • Olympics, CWG and Asian Games medal winners will get tax exemption on cash or other rewards given by the government.
