    • Another Indian Kidambi Srikanth prevails in men's version by overcoming Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the final.
    • Saina beat former world champion Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand to clinch her maiden title here.
    • She has just replaced the Chineses Li Xuerui from the top spot finishing her reign of 119 weeks since December 20, 2012.

  • Australia is crowned World Champion for the record 5th time; wins 2015 Cricket World Cup by defeating New Zealand in the final. 
    • The 11th edition of this tournament - held every four years since 1975 - was jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
    • Australians had also grabbed this coveted trophy in the years 1987, 1999, 2003 and 2007.
    • England will host the next World Cup in 2019.
    • India (1983 & 2011), West Indies (1975 & 1979), Pakistan (1992), and Sri Lanka (1996) are the only other nations to have won this title.
  • With 8.8 crores members, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) becomes the world's largest political party
    • Communist Party of China has so far held this spot with 8.6 crore members.
    • The sudden surge is result of the hi-tech membership drive introduced by the right-wing outfit whereby one can become a member by merely dialing a mobile number.
    • The original target was to register 10 crore members across the country by March 31; however that couldn't happen.
